Rumor is, that Mario Cantone, openly gay stand-up comic, is to take Meredith Viera's place.
Also, the rumor is that Star Jones has said she will leave if he's hired. So, to producers of The View, I ask you, for the love of all that is holy, HIRE MARIO! That cow's contract is set to expire this year anyway. Get somebody else in her spot. Like Ant who is MC'ing the Celebrity Fit Club over on VH1.
Supposedly, others who might be offered the job besides Mario the Fabulous are: Kathie Lee Gifford, Connie Chung, Patricia Heaton, and Soledad O'Brien.
I'm telling you. GIVE US MARIO!
